PROLOGUE
Everybody has their bucket list trip. For Ayden Mugen, it’s seeing Japan from the view of a motorcycle. Starting on the northernmost island of Hokkaido, he has 12 weeks to traverse the country to its southernmost island, Okinawa. There, he will meet a former exchange student and family friend, Setsuko.
Setsuko has created an itinerary for Ayden with things to do every day until he can see her. In return for providing the itinerary, she has asked Ayden to do two things.
At the end of each day, he needs to write an entry in a journal that she can read. The other thing is to write a song for her at the end of each week.
While the trip is one that he’s wanted to experience for a long time, it will not be without his obstacles.
In a place that’s on the other side of the world, Ayden must navigate his way through cultural, monetary, and personal barriers to complete his trip. On top of that, Ayden has chosen to stick to his motocross roots and take on this adventure via two wheels, with no exceptions.
With 12 weeks, a set budget, and a thirst for adventure, will Ayden successfully traverse the land of the rising sun? It’s a story that only he, and his two-wheeled companion, can answer. This is the story of AM20: The Japan Journals.
